Happy Home Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Happy Home Reserve Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced, off leash park on Waterloo Corner Road in Salisbury North, in Adelaide's northern suburbs, open around the clock. Its two part layout with a dedicated small dog section, plus agility gear and a tunnel, makes it one of the more complete fenced parks in the City of Salisbury.

The dog setup

Dogs run off lead inside the secure fence, split across two sections, one of which is reserved for small dogs. City of Salisbury rules apply: keep your dog under effective control and responding to voice, supervise continuously and never leave them unattended, and make sure your dog is socialised before you enter. Read the enclosure as you come through the gate, and bin all waste immediately.

Worth knowing

There is more here than the average suburban dog park: agility equipment and a tunnel give active dogs a job, mature trees shade the space, benches line the fence, and dog drinking troughs are generally available. Walk trails thread through the wider reserve, and the space is popular for picnics. The catch is the ground, which can go muddy after rain, so expect wet paws following wet weather.

Getting there and parking

The park sits adjacent to the Salisbury Aquatic Centre on Waterloo Corner Road, which makes it easy to find, with free off street parking on site. Bus stop 50A on Waterloo Corner Road covers public transport. There are no restricted hours, and the reserve is open 24 hours.

Close by with the dogs

For a post walk coffee, General Store at The Heart in Salisbury Heights is a short drive east. The Upper Little Para Trail extends the outing with a proper on lead walk, and for a change of fenced scenery Mawson Lakes Fenced Dog Park is up the road.

Pepsi: A small dog section is the difference between play and warfare. This one has the tunnel too, which is my favourite obstacle.

Weekends draw the biggest crowds, while weekday mornings stay calmer. Good for social dogs of any size, and for owners who want agility gear and shade in the one secure run.
