Mawson Lakes Fenced Dog Park

The pitch. A fully fenced, off-leash dog park on Link Parade in Mawson Lakes, with open grass, some shade and bench seating for owners. It sits close to the small dog park and the central lake precinct, so it is easy to fold into a wider walk.

The rules. Dogs need to stay on-leash on the way in and out through the double gates, then off-leash once inside the fenced area. Keep dogs under effective control and in sight, pick up after them using the bins provided, and remove any dog showing aggression straight away. Confirm exact hours and any seasonal closures on site, as these were not confirmed in research.

What's there. Secure perimeter fencing, a double-gated entry, bench seating, some natural shade and dog waste bags and bins. Bring your own water bowl to be safe on hot days even though on-site water was mentioned in some listings.

Getting there. On Link Parade, reached easily off Main Street or Salisbury Highway, with limited street parking alongside the park. It is a short walk from the Mawson Lakes town centre and lake.

Nearby with the dogs. The Mawson Lakes Small Dog Park is only a few streets away if your dog is better suited to a smaller-breed area. Main Street's cafes, including Relish on Main and Morning Light Cafe, both take dogs on their outdoor tables for a coffee afterwards.

When to go. Weekday mornings or the mid-afternoon lull are quietest; weekday evenings after 4:30pm and weekend mornings draw the biggest crowds. Good for confident, social dogs happy to share the space; timid dogs will do better outside peak hours.
