Aspen Holidays Highway1

Aspen Holidays Highway1 is a 20-acre holiday park at 925-963 Port Wakefield Road in Paralowie, about 20 to 30 minutes north of the Adelaide CBD. With self-contained cabins, villas, and caravan and camping sites, it runs a genuinely dog-friendly booking policy: dogs are welcome in selected cabins and on sites, not just tolerated on grass at the back fence.

Only some cabins are pet-friendly, and you cannot assume your booking includes one: phone ahead and have a designated pet-friendly cabin allocated. Cabins take one dog, carry a $50 pet fee per pet per stay, and a $100 refundable bond is taken at check-in and returned after inspection. Caravan and camping sites have no pet fee, but declare the dog when you book.

In the park, dogs stay leashed in common areas and cannot be left unattended, inside or outside your accommodation. Confirm the current fee and bond at booking, since terms can shift between seasons.

The vibe

Guest reviews rate the park highly for clean cabins, comfy villas and a pool, with kitchenettes that make longer stays workable. It is a working northern-suburbs base rather than a tourist strip: Port Wakefield Road runs you straight to the LeFevre Peninsula beaches and the Barossa side of Adelaide, while the Gawler train line and Mawson Lakes are close by.

Getting there and parking

The park sits on Port Wakefield Road, the main northern highway out of Adelaide, with easy access from the Port River Expressway. Parking is at your own site or cabin, and most guests arrive by car.

Close by with the dogs

The City of Salisbury has some of Adelaide's best local dog parks, several with 24-hour off-leash access. The Kingswood Crescent Reserve Fenced Dog Park is right in Paralowie, and Jenkins Reserve Fenced Dog Park in Salisbury Park has separate big and small dog areas with agility equipment. For an on-lead walk, the Toohey Ridge Track is a solid option.
