Jenkins Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Jenkins Reserve Fenced Dog Park sits off Saints Road in Salisbury Park, in Adelaide's northern suburbs, and it is one of the better-equipped fenced dog parks in the City of Salisbury after a round of upgrades that added new fencing, gates and shelters. It suits owners who want secure off-leash running without worrying about road frontage.

The dog setup

The dog park is fully enclosed by new perimeter fencing and split into separate zones for large and small dogs, with airlock-style double entry gates on both sides to stop gate dashers. Inside there is agility apparatus, shaded seating and water refill stations.

Dogs may be off leash within the fenced enclosure provided they stay under effective control and close to you. Outside the fence, the wider reserve runs along the Little Para River with open grassy walking space under established native trees.

Worth knowing

The City of Salisbury runs a trial individual use arrangement for its small dog parks, holding daily time slots when a single group can book exclusive access, which helps reactive or nervous dogs. Check the council's dog friendly parks page for current times, and carry your own bags even though the park is generally stocked.

The reserve also has picnic settings, accessible pathways, a playground and public toilets nearby, so it handles a mixed family outing as well as a dedicated dog session.

Max: this is a two-visit park. Warm the dog up with a loop along the river first, then finish with ten minutes of agility and social time inside the fenced area.

Enter from Saints Road, Salisbury Park SA 5109. There is parking along the reserve frontage and the paths from the car park to the fenced area are accessible and pram friendly.
