Canterbury Drive Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Canterbury Drive Reserve Fenced Dog Park is a purpose-built, fully fenced off-leash enclosure inside a larger multi-purpose reserve in Salisbury Heights, officially listed among the City of Salisbury's dog parks. It is one of the council parks taking part in the Individual Use Dog Park Trial, which gives nervous dogs an option most fenced parks cannot: guaranteed solo time.

The dog setup

Every day between 2pm and 6pm the enclosure runs as single-use under the trial: one person or household at a time, first come first served with no booking, and a 20 minute cap if others are waiting. That window exists so anxious, reactive or recovering dogs can run safely without other dogs around. Outside those hours it reverts to shared off-leash use under standard rules: effective voice control, no unattended dogs, gates closed behind you, and pick-up with the bins provided.

The yard itself has green turf under irrigation, solar lighting, a picnic setting with device charging, and a drinking fountain with a dedicated dog bowl right beside the gate. The wider reserve adds a fenced playground, a BMX track, basketball and tennis courts and outdoor fitness gear, so it works for a family outing as well as a dog run.

Worth knowing

Visit on a dry day if you can: the turf holds water and turns muddy fast after rain. Shared-use mornings and midday slots are the sociable times; the 2pm start of solo time is the reliable quiet entry for a shy dog.

Getting there and parking

The reserve sits on Canterbury Drive, Salisbury Heights SA 5109, with parking generally available along the park perimeter. If you are not driving, check Adelaide Metro for the closest current bus route.
