Canterbury Drive Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Canterbury Drive Reserve Fenced Dog Park is a purpose-built, fully fenced off-leash area inside a larger multi-purpose reserve in Salisbury Heights, officially listed among the City of Salisbury's dog parks. Dogs can run off-leash inside the fence at any time, with a dog-bowl drinking fountain right beside the gate.

The rules. Dogs may be exercised off-leash within the fenced area at any time under the City of Salisbury's dog park rules. Keep dogs under effective voice control, pick up after them using the bins provided, and do not leave a dog unattended, especially when other dogs are in the enclosure. The council has also introduced small-dog areas at some of its parks, confirm on site if Canterbury Drive has a separate small-dog yard.

What's there. The fenced yard has green turf and irrigation, a solar-powered picnic setting with device charging, solar lighting, and a drinking fountain with a dedicated dog bowl. The wider reserve around it adds a fenced playground, a BMX track, basketball and tennis courts, and outdoor fitness equipment, so it works for a family outing as well as a dog run.

Getting there. The reserve is on Canterbury Drive, Salisbury Heights SA 5109, with parking generally available along the park perimeter. Check Adelaide Metro for the closest current bus route if you are not driving.

Nearby with the dogs. General Store at The Heart, a dog-friendly cafe with veranda seating, is a short walk away on the same street. Dedicated dog-friendly cafes are otherwise limited in this immediate pocket, so it is worth checking pet policies before heading further into Salisbury East or Golden Grove.

Visit on a dry day if you can. The turf holds water after rain and turns muddy fast. Early mornings on quieter weekdays are the easiest time to get the fenced area to yourselves.
