OH, HEY THERE

OH, HEY THERE is a boutique coffee shop and artisan gift store at Shop 2, 43-49 Gloucester Avenue, Salisbury East, in Adelaide's north-east. Half the room is a cafe, the other half is shelves of flowers, homewares and gifts from local South Australian makers, and the outdoor seating is where dogs come in.

Because the indoor space doubles as a small gift shop, keep your dog outside rather than bringing them through the store, and pick a table where the lead does not cross the walkway. The footpath side is quiet enough that a settling dog is no drama.

The coffee menu goes beyond the usual flat whites, with salted caramel iced lattes, matcha and the occasional novelty shake, and the toasties are the affordable food anchor alongside pastries like the pistachio croissant. Doors open at 8am most days (9am on Sundays) with closing times that vary between afternoon and mid-afternoon depending on the day, so check the current hours if you are heading out late. The venue previously traded as a florist under another name, which explains the flower connection.

Gloucester Avenue is the local shopping strip for Salisbury East, with parking along the avenue and in the small complex carparks. It is a neighbourhood stop rather than a destination strip, which keeps the footpath calm for dogs.
