Golden Grove Fenced Dog Park

Golden Grove Fenced Dog Park sits inside Chestnut Reserve on Bicentennial Drive in Golden Grove, in Adelaide's north-east and run by the City of Tea Tree Gully. It is a fully fenced, off-leash space open around the clock, small enough that a visit stays contained but big enough for a genuine run.

The dog setup

Dogs are off lead inside the fenced area, which is split by a dividing fence so different dogs can settle into different sections. The surface is bark and stone rather than grass, so paws stay cleaner than you might expect after rain but softer ground is not on offer.

There is agility equipment from novice to advanced, a walking track that loops inside the perimeter, shaded seating along the edge, and drinking water with dog bowls on hand. Waste bags and bins are provided. Use the separate entrance and exit gates as intended and the handover at the gate stays calm.

Max: this is a bark-and-stones park, so expect a bit of dust. The dividing fence is the friend here: move to the quiet section if your dog wants room instead of a greeting committee at the gate.

Worth knowing

The park is on the compact side, which suits owners who prefer to see the whole space at once. It works well for recall practice inside the fence before venturing to Tea Tree Gully reserves where dogs are off lead under voice control.

Getting there and parking

Head for Chestnut Reserve on Bicentennial Drive, Golden Grove. Parking is street and reserve parking nearby, and the park is a short drive off the main roads through the suburb. It is open 24 hours.

Make a day of it

The Yellow Track Loop at Tea Tree Gully adds a proper bushland walk nearby, and the Anstey Hill Boundary Walk is another option for a longer outing.

For the post-park coffee, Tea Tree Gully Coffee Shoppe and Shelley Street Cafe both take dogs, and The Gully Public House & Garden handles a relaxed lunch.
