Tea Tree Gully Coffee Shoppe

Tea Tree Gully Coffee Shoppe operated from Shop 1 at 1344 North East Road, a small, popular local cafe that built its following on house-made sausage rolls, scones and generous all-day breakfast plates. Heads up before you set out: the cafe has ceased trading, with the business sold in early 2025 and its website now offline, so check what currently occupies the shopfront before you plan a stop there.

The dog setup

While it was trading, dogs were welcome at the outdoor seating, which was the practical choice anyway given how small the interior was. The footpath tables suited calm dogs on a short lead, and staff had a reputation for welcoming regulars and their pets. Water bowls appeared often enough, though the compact space meant it worked best for one dog at a time rather than a group meetup.

Worth knowing

The menu leaned homemade: the sausage roll was the signature, alongside scones, savoury muffins, smashed avo and eggs Benedict with famously big servings. Coffee ran on three rotating blends from medium to dark roast. Hours were 7am to 3pm on weekdays and 8am to 2pm Saturdays, closed Sundays. The shop space was marketed and sold as a turnkey hospitality opportunity in February 2025.

While you're out there

The north-eastern foothills still make the walk worthwhile. The Anstey Hill Boundary Walk offers proper bushland hiking on the suburb's edge, and Golden Grove Fenced Dog Park covers the off-lead run. For coffee with the dog nearby, Shelley Street Cafe sits on the same stretch of North East Road, and The Gully Public House & Garden is the bigger dog-friendly option on the strip.
