Relish on Main

Relish on Main is the busy lakeside diner on Main Street at the centre of Mawson Lakes, doing breakfast through to dinner with a view over the water. The outdoor terrace is where dogs are welcome, which turns a lakeside brunch into an easy outing for the whole household.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the outdoor tables on the terrace; the indoor dining room is people only. Staff have a reputation for being warm toward four-legged regulars, and a treat sometimes appears for well behaved dogs. Water bowls are not guaranteed, so pack a collapsible one, and keep your dog settled and on-lead beside the table. Rules can shift with seasons and staffing, so a quick confirm at the door is never wasted.

The vibe

This is a proper all-day diner rather than a bracket-cafe. The menu runs from eggs benedict and banana bread at breakfast to burgers, pizza and schnitzels later on, with generous portion sizes a running theme in feedback. The lake view does a lot of the atmosphere work, and reviews consistently describe staff as polite and unhurried even when the room is full.

Getting there and parking

You will find it at Shop 9B, 1 Main Street, Mawson Lakes, in the town centre. Street parking and a public car park serve Main Street and the surrounding blocks, and the Mawson Lakes train station and bus interchange are a short walk away if you would rather leave the car at home.

Close by with the dogs

The lake foreshore sits right there, so a lap of the water before or after your table is an easy add-on. Morning light cafe on Goodall Parade is a short stroll around the shoreline for a second coffee stop, and when your dog needs a proper off-lead run the Mawson Lakes Fenced Dog Park is only a few minutes away, with the Mawson Lakes Small Dog Park next door for quieter temperaments.
