Pooraka Small Dog Park

Pooraka Small Dog Park is a fenced, off-leash area set aside for small and timid dogs, part of the wider Pooraka Triangle Park precinct near Montague Road and Bridge Road. A 35cm shoulder-height limit keeps it free of larger, boisterous dogs, with grass, some shade and a few obstacles to potter around.

The rules. Dogs must be 35cm or under at the shoulder. Stay with your dog and supervise them the whole visit, keep them responsive to voice commands even off-leash, and clean up after them with the poo bags provided. Shut both gates properly on the way in and out, and skip toys that might cause tension between dogs.

What's there. Double-gate fencing, a shelter with seating and tables, a water station, some shaded trees and free parking right next to the park.

Getting there. Near the corner of Montague Road and Bridge Road, Pooraka, close to the caravan park. Reachable via Main North Road, Montague Road or Bridge Road, with ample free parking on site and Adelaide Metro buses servicing both connecting roads.

Early mornings and late afternoons draw the biggest crowds, especially on weekends, so a weekday mid-morning or early afternoon is your best bet for a quieter run. There's only one main shelter, and it fills fast in rain or heat, so check the forecast before you head out. Confirm current details with the local caravan park or council before your visit.
