Pooraka Triangle Dog Park

Pooraka Triangle Dog Park is a fenced off-leash park on South Terrace within the Unity Park complex in Adelaide's north, run by the City of Salisbury. Separate space for small or timid dogs, agility gear and 24-hour access make it a proper dog park rather than a shared reserve.

The dog setup

Dogs run off-leash inside the fenced area under effective control: visible to you, close by and responding to commands. Both gates must be shut as you come and go, dogs are never left unattended, and you clean up straight away, with bag dispensers on site.

The enclosure holds open grass, shade trees, shelters with seating and tables, a dog drinking fountain and agility equipment including a tunnel and slide. A separate section keeps smaller or nervous dogs away from the rough-and-tumble.

Worth knowing

The City of Salisbury advises against bringing toys or throwing balls here because flying toys spark conflict between dogs. That is unusual advice but worth following, especially when the park is busy.

Max: socialise a new dog elsewhere first, and skip the ball games when the park is full. Fewer flying toys means fewer scuffles.

Getting there and parking

The park sits on South Terrace just off Main North Road, with on-site parking at Unity Park. Adelaide Metro buses run along Main North Road a short walk from the entrance, and the flat site is manageable for prams and wheelchairs.

Unity Park next door adds a children's playground, a skatepark and walking paths around the wider reserve, so non-dog family members have something to do.
