Wolston Creek Bushland Reserve Fenced Dog Park is a small, fully fenced off-leash area inside the larger Wolston Creek Bushland Reserve at 41 Paluna Street, Riverhills, about 20 to 30 minutes southwest of Brisbane. What sets it apart from the usual suburban enclosure is the setting: the fence line sits against native bushland, and the wider reserve's gravel walking trails begin at the gate, so a fenced play session and an on-leash bushwalk stack neatly into one visit. It is a quiet neighbourhood park, not a regional drawcard, and that is its appeal.

The dog setup

Inside the double-gated enclosure you get open grass plus dedicated agility equipment and obstacles, which makes it useful for training as well as plain running. Off-leash is permitted inside the fence only; everywhere else in the reserve dogs stay on lead to protect the native wildlife, and owners need to keep effective voice or hand control, bin droppings and stay within the boundary. The bushland edge means wildlife temptations are real, so recall matters even in an enclosed space.

Max: tick prevention is non-negotiable here. Visitors report ticks in the reserve, so run a check through the coat and ears before you load up and head home.

This is a calm, local crowd rather than a busy regional park. Weekday mornings and afternoons see the most use, weekend mornings more than weekend afternoons, with mid-morning, late afternoon and early evening the quietest windows. Getting there and parking

The entrance is on Paluna Street, with free street parking generally available nearby. Translink buses service Riverhills but leave you with a walk, so most visitors arrive by car via the Centenary Highway corridor.
