Booker Place Park Fenced Dog Park

Booker Place Park's fenced dog park sits inside a bigger family reserve on Birkin Road in Bellbowrie, in Brisbane's west near the river. The deal is simple: a fully enclosed off-leash area for the dogs, and a playground, skate space and paved paths for everyone else, which makes it a park both halves of the household can use at once.

The dog setup

Off-leash applies only inside the fenced enclosure. Walking through the wider park to reach it, your dog stays on lead, and the same applies around the playground and picnic areas. Inside the fence, Brisbane City Council rules still expect effective control: keep your dog in sight, close the gate behind you, and leash up and leave if trouble starts. Bags and bins are on site. The enclosure has water fountains for dogs and owners, benches, shelters and some lighting for dusk visits, plus a patch of agility gear. The surface is grass, which is proper running room but can turn to mud after rain and bake hard through summer.

The vibe

The wider reserve is a serious family park, with a nature playground complete with flying fox and water play, skate areas, BBQs and accessible toilets, so a dog park stop doubles as the kids' morning out. Weekday mornings around 6:30 to 8am and weekend mornings draw a regular local crowd, which suits social dogs. For a quieter session, try mid-morning on a weekday or early afternoon. The park is open around the clock, but lighting only covers so much after dark.

Getting there and parking

The park sits at 101-137 Birkin Road, Bellbowrie, with free parking alongside. If you are coming without a car, bus routes along Moggill Road drop within a short walk. Paths through the reserve are paved, so prams and wheelchairs get around fine.
