Tigris Street Park Fenced Dog Park

Tigris Street Park Fenced Dog Park is a small, fully fenced off-leash run at 470 Westlake Drive, Westlake, on the edge of the Centenary suburbs about 15 minutes southwest of the Brisbane CBD. It is open 24 hours, has a double-gated entry, and suits a quick, secure lead-off session without any road worries.

The dog setup

There is one shared yard with no separate large-dog and small-dog sections, which makes for easy socialising but is worth knowing if your dog prefers space. Inside there are agility extras, including logs, a large tunnel and stone blocks to climb, alongside a water fountain with dog bowls, shaded patches under tall trees and benches for owners. Dogs need to stay under effective voice control even off the lead, and droppings go in the bins straight away. Free poop bags are usually stocked on both sides of the fence, but carry a backup in case the dispenser has run dry.

Max: with no size split, keep a closer eye during busy periods and be ready to step in if a size mismatch turns boisterous.

Worth knowing

Early mornings and late afternoons draw the local regulars, so if your dog prefers a quieter run, aim for mid-morning or early afternoon when there is more shade and more room to spread out. The setting is a quiet, tree-lined suburban pocket, which keeps the atmosphere relaxed compared with the bigger western suburbs parks.

Getting there and parking

The park sits at 470 Westlake Drive, right on the Westlake and Riverhills border. There is no dedicated off-street car park, so parking is along Westlake Drive and nearby residential streets such as Tigris Street. Anyone in the immediate Riverhills and Westlake area can walk in easily, and the Coucal Trail and Brisbane River are close by if you want to extend the outing. TransLink bus routes run along Westlake Drive.

Loffs Road Fenced Dog Park is the other enclosed yard in Westlake, and Wolston Creek Bushland Reserve Fenced Dog Park is nearby at Riverhills if you want a bigger bushland run. For an on-leash leg stretch, the Coucal Trail runs close to the park.
