Thomas Macleod Park Fenced Dog Park

Thomas Macleod Park Fenced Dog Park is a fully enclosed off-leash park in Sinnamon Park run by Brisbane City Council, and its defining feature is the split layout: separate fenced zones for large and small dogs. For owners of petite breeds or dogs that need breathing room from bigger players, that layout makes this one of the more dependable parks in Brisbane's west.

The dog setup

Both zones are fully fenced with double-gated airlock entries, so transitions in and out are safe when the gates are used properly. Dogs run off-leash inside, under effective control, with owners supervising continuously; aggressive dogs are not permitted and one that turns sour should be leashed and taken out straight away. Free waste bags and bins are provided. On top of the fencing you get real amenities: a water tap with bowls, mature trees for shade, a sheltered picnic table, benches and park lighting that stretches usable hours into early morning and evening. The standout is a dedicated dog bath for rinsing muddy paws before the drive home.

Worth knowing

The park sits beside a lake with ducks and turtles, and on-leash walking tracks loop around it, so the fenced session can be paired with a leashed circuit. The ground can turn muddy after heavy rain, which is exactly what the on-site dog bath is for. The regulars have a reputation for being welcoming, and the park stays quieter than the big-name parks further east.

Getting there

The park is off Macleod Parade and Oldfield Road in Sinnamon Park, with easy access from the Centenary Motorway via the Sinnamon Park exit and free parking near the entrance. Suburban bus routes service the area but leave a walk to the gate. The facility is wheelchair accessible.
