Toombul Dog Park is a small, fully fenced off-leash area on Hedley Avenue in Nundah, open around the clock. The secure fencing and 24/7 access make it a handy inner-north spot for a quick run when you cannot get to a bigger park.

The rules. The enclosure is fenced for off-leash play, and dogs must be under effective voice control with an owner present. Clean up after your dog, though free bags are generally on hand. On the surrounding Hedley Avenue streets, dogs are on-lead. Brisbane City Council was consulting on a new dog exercise area plan through 2026, so on-lead rules in the wider area may change, worth confirming locally.

What is there. It is an open grassy enclosure with seating for owners and a water station. Parking is free on the street. There is no separate small-dog area, so with a small or timid dog it is worth timing your visit for a quiet stretch.

Getting there. Address is 78 Hedley Avenue, easily reached off Sandgate Road and the Gateway Motorway, with free street parking. It is near the former Toombul railway station, and the surrounding area was undergoing redevelopment through 2026.

Nearby with the dogs. Nundah Village is a couple of minutes away for a dog-friendly coffee with footpath seating.

When to go. Weekend mornings from about 8am to 10am and weekday evenings from around 4:30pm to 6pm are busiest. Mid-morning to early afternoon is quieter, which suits dogs that find a big group too much given there is no small-dog side.
