Fuel & Co

Fuel & Co is the busy breakfast-and-lunch cafe on Buckland Road in the middle of Nundah Village, and it is one of the more reliably dog-welcoming spots in the precinct. If you want a proper feed rather than just a takeaway coffee with the dog, this is the pick.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor alfresco seating: the lane-side tables next to the cafe and the green area out front. Tables are spaced with room for a dog to settle beside you, and a water bowl sits in a shady spot outside most days. Bring your own on a busy morning to be sure. Keep dogs on-lead and out of the indoor service area; indoors is humans only.

Worth knowing

The kitchen is the draw: hotcakes, chilli scrambled eggs and a bacon-and-egg roll combo among the regular orders, plus consistently good coffee. Staff have a reputation for being genuinely friendly to dogs. It trades long, 6am starts with evening service Thursday through Sunday, so it works as a dinner-and-drinks option with the dog on the terrace as well as a brunch stop.

Getting there and parking

The address is 190 Buckland Road, Nundah. Street parking exists but fills fast at peak, so try the side streets if Buckland Road is full, or walk in from Nundah train station a few minutes away.

Close by with the dogs

You are in Nundah Village, so a post-coffee stroll along the main strip is easy. For a proper off-lead run afterwards, the Boyd Park Fenced Dog Park is a short drive, and York Street Espresso Bar is the neighbourhood's other famously dog-mad coffee stop. Mavvy Lane keeps outdoor tables too if the village strip is your loop.
