Camperdown Memorial Rest Park

Camperdown Memorial Rest Park is a leafy Newtown favourite with a timed off-lead area, a short walk from Erskineville. Inner West Council manages it.

Off-lead hours

The off-lead area is bounded by Federation Road, Church Street, the St Stephen's Church wall and a diagonal path. It is off lead 24 hours a day on weekdays.

On weekends it is off lead from 5pm to 9am during daylight saving, and from 4pm to 9am the rest of the year. Everywhere else in the park, dogs stay on lead at all times.

The park

Paved diagonal and perimeter paths cross open lawns under mature trees, beside the heritage brick wall of St Stephen's Church and its old cemetery.

There are drinking fountains, some with low basins for dogs, plus bins and toilets. Street parking on Federation Road, Lennox Street and Church Street is limited.

Max: Weekend middays are on-lead time, even in the off-lead area. Check the clock before you unclip.
