Harry Noble Reserve

Harry Noble Reserve is a compact, well-loved off-leash park on the corner of Elliott Avenue and Swanson Street in Erskineville, a short flat walk from the village. It's a proper neighbourhood hub for local dog owners, small enough to feel intimate but busy enough that your dog will find company most days.

The rules. Off-leash at all times, with dogs expected to be under effective control (voice command or within sight). The children's playground is fenced off and dogs are not permitted inside it. Bag your dog's waste, bins are provided on-site.

What's there. A fenced children's playground kept separate from the dog area, shaded picnic tables under mature trees, free public barbecues, and enough seating for a lazy hour while the dogs run around.

Getting there. Erskineville Station is about an 8 to 10 minute walk away, and several bus stops run along Swanson Street. Parking is residential street parking only around Elliott Avenue, so it can be tight on weekends.

Nearby with the dogs. Naked Brew on Swanson Street sits directly opposite the park and is a popular dog-friendly stop for a coffee after a play, with a dog menu of its own.

When to go. Weekday mornings or mid-afternoons are quietest. Saturday mornings and Sunday lunchtime bring the crowds, and weekday evenings from 5 to 7pm get busy with locals home from work. Good for social dogs; shier dogs may prefer off-peak visits.
