The Urban Newtown

The Urban Newtown is a boutique industrial-style hotel on Enmore Road, close to Newtown Station, and one of the more straightforward pet-friendly stays in the inner west.

The pet policy. Dogs are allowed only in designated King Suites, which come with a kitchenette and comfortable bed. A pet fee of around AUD $40 per night applies, payable on arrival, and it's generally one dog per room. Flag your dog with the hotel when booking so they can allocate the right room, and confirm the current fee cap at booking since terms can shift.

The place. Exposed brick, loft-style rooms, in-room Nespresso machines and kitchenettes. Food and water bowls are provided for guests travelling with dogs, and it's worth asking reception not to leave your dog unattended in the room for long stretches.

Location and nearby. On Enmore Road, a short walk from Newtown Station, and close to Camperdown Memorial Rest Park for a proper off-leash run. Plenty of dog-friendly pubs and cafes along Enmore Road and King Street for the rest of the stay.

Before you book. Limited undercover parking is available on-site for an extra charge and should be requested ahead of arrival, since street parking around Newtown is tight. Good for a dog-friendly inner-west base if you book the right room and bring your dog's own bed for the extra fee to feel worth it.
