Barmuda is a relaxed all-day cafe on Australia Street, a couple of minutes' walk from Newtown Station, and a solid pick if you want brunch with the dog underfoot rather than left at home.

Indoor seating is not confirmed as dog-friendly, so plan on the footpath tables and check with staff if you're unsure on the day. The seating runs close to passing foot traffic, so it suits a dog that's comfortable with people walking past.

Getting there. About 100 metres from Newtown Station, so it's an easy train trip. Street parking on Australia Street and side streets exists but is limited, especially at weekend brunch times.

Go early on weekend mornings if you want a table without a wait, and keep the lead short given the footpath seating. Good for a casual brunch stop before a walk through Newtown.
