Weston Creek Dog Park

Weston Creek Dog Park sits on Warragamba Avenue in Duffy, near the Cotter Road corridor, and serves the wider Weston Creek district as a fully fenced off lead park open around the clock. The standout is the separate yard for small dogs, which gives little breeds a secure option away from the rougher play in the main run.

The dog setup

Two distinct fenced yards split large and small dogs, entered through double gates, with high wire mesh on the perimeter. Water stations work in both sections, benches and maturing trees cover the seating, and bag dispensers and bins sit throughout. Ground is a mix of grass, dirt and woodchip paths. ACT rules apply: dogs registered and desexed, no more than two dogs per handler, handlers 16 or over, leashed until inside the fence, eyes on your dog the whole time, and pick up on the spot.

Worth knowing

The park rarely feels crowded by city standards, and locals describe a chill vibe with friendly owners. Scan the ground before letting a new dog loose; like any woodchip and grass yard, scraps and burrs turn up. Shade is still filling in as the trees grow, so summer middays are better at the benches than out in the open.

Getting there and parking

Drive in via Warragamba Avenue, near the Eucambene Drive end, and the free car park sits immediately beside the entrance. Local buses cover the surrounding Duffy streets and pedestrian paths link the park to the neighbouring Weston Creek suburbs on foot.

While you're out there

Pair the run with an on lead walk along the Cooleman Ridge Nature Track in neighbouring Chapman for a full morning. For coffee or a feed afterwards, Little Billy's in Weston and the Meating Room are both close. More fenced parks across the ACT and around Duffy.
