The Rivett Shops Green Space is the web of paths and open grass around the local shops in Rivett. It makes a short, shady neighbourhood loop where dogs stay on lead.
Lead rules
ACT rules require dogs to be leashed in ordinary public open space unless it is a signed off-leash area, and this is not one. Keep dogs at least 10 metres from playgrounds and barbecues.
The walk
Concrete paths and grass verges link the streets to the shops on Rivett Place and Bangalay Crescent. A lap of the green edges runs about 1 to 1.5 km.
Mature trees give good shade, and there is open grass for a sniff on the way.
Make a day of it
Finish at Pitch Black Cafe by the shops, or walk on to Little Billy's in Weston.
A quick walk before or after errands. Flat paths suit older dogs and puppies.
