What visitors mention
Balga Fenced Dog Park is a free, fully fenced off-leash park in Princess Wallington Reserve, on the corner of Princess Road and Balga Avenue. The park is split into two secured areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs, with a mix of sand and open grass to run on.
The rules. Dogs run off-leash inside the fenced zones, but owners need to keep them in sight and under voice control. Aggressive dogs are discouraged, and you are expected to clean up after your dog. The park uses a double-gate entry system: close the first gate behind you before opening the second, so nobody's dog slips out while you're getting settled.
What's there. Water taps keep dogs hydrated on hot Perth days, and there's solid shade cover plus seating for owners. The large dog area has ramps and obstacles for a bit of enrichment, and there's a sand pit for the diggers. Waste bags are generally stocked on site, but it pays to bring your own as backup.
Getting there. The park sits in Princess Wallington Reserve, Balga Avenue, Balga WA 6061, with free parking nearby. Transperth buses run along Balga Avenue and Princess Road if you're coming without a car.
Nearby with the dogs. There isn't much dog-friendly dining right at the park, but outdoor tables turn up along Wanneroo Road and in nearby Stirling. If you're after pet-friendly accommodation, check listings in Balga, Warwick or Stirling and confirm the pet policy directly before booking.

Weekday evenings, especially Tuesday and Thursday, and weekends draw the biggest crowds. For a quieter run, aim for weekday mornings, Monday and Wednesday tend to be calm, or head over in the early morning or evening when the shade is better and the park has more room to move.
