Kingsway Fenced Dog Park

Kingsway Fenced Dog Park sits inside the Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex at the corner of Hartman Drive and Sporting Drive in Madeley, run by the City of Wanneroo. It is a fully enclosed off-leash park with two separate double-gated enclosures, one for small dogs and one for all dogs.

The dog setup

Both enclosures carry irrigated grass, mulched zones, a sand digging pit, basic agility equipment and solid natural shade from established trees. Water comes from accessible drinking fountains with tippable bowls, and bench seating rings the edges.

Close the first gate before opening the second at either airlock entry. Dogs are off lead inside the fence but must stay under effective voice control the whole time, owners are expected to stay in the park and supervise, and waste goes straight in the bins provided.

Worth knowing

The park is open around the clock, and recreational lighting keeps it usable from 6pm to 10pm, so an after-work session in winter is realistic. Sunday mornings and evenings plus Wednesday and Thursday evenings are the busiest windows, while weekday mid-mornings stay quieter if your dog prefers space.

If a dog gets pushy, the expectation is to leash up and leave rather than ride it out. Any dog that bolts at an open gate should probably stay clipped on until both gates are shut behind you.

Max: the small dog and all-dogs areas are properly separated here, not just a painted line. Work out which gate you want before you are committed to a lap with a boisterous crowd.

Getting there and parking

Free parking sits right beside the gated entrances off the complex internal roads, reached from Hepburn Avenue or Gnangara Road. Transperth buses run along Kingsway, leaving a short walk in from the stop.

While you're out there

Banksia Food Co. operates inside the Kingsway Indoor Stadium next door, with a dog-friendly courtyard for the coffee stop. The Lake Goollelal circuit is a few minutes away for an on-lead walk afterwards, and Lakeview Cafe in Kingsley covers a sit-down brunch.
