Lakeview Cafe

Lakeview Cafe sits inside the Waldecks Garden Centre at 173 Wanneroo Road, Kingsley, and dogs are genuinely welcome rather than grudgingly tolerated: the cafe's own socials advertise it. Garden and covered patio tables look out over the nursery's plant displays, which makes it an easy half-outing with a wander through the nursery afterwards.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor garden and covered patio seating, on lead and settled. Dog tables tend to be on the side, a little away from the busiest dining and playground zones, which keeps things calm with prams and kids about. Water is generally available and treats have been offered, though do not count on it every visit. The nursery itself is dog-friendly to stroll through on the lead after coffee.

The vibe and the menu

Brunch is the draw: poached eggs, eggs benedict, french toast, bruschetta, hash browns and solid vegetarian and gluten-free options, plus fish and chips, cakes, carrot cake and scones in the cabinet. Coffee, chai and smoothies cover the drinks. Hours run 8:30am to 4pm daily, with hot food winding down around 3pm. Weekday mid-morning is the quiet window; weekends fill with families and prams alongside the dogs.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is inside the Waldecks complex on Wanneroo Road in Kingsley, with a big free car park shared with the nursery. It is flat walking from car to table, which makes life simple with a dog and a coffee tray.

While you're out there

Lake Goollelal and its bushland paths are close by, and the Lake Joondalup Circuit is the bigger loop for a proper walk. Elcar Park Fenced Dog Park handles the off-lead run, and Reid Wright & Co is the neighbourhood coffee alternative in Kingsley itself.
