Turkey Flat Vineyards

Turkey Flat Vineyards runs its cellar door from a restored 1840s bluestone butcher's shop at 67 Bethany Road, on the edge of Tanunda. Dogs on leads are welcome in the courtyard, garden and outdoor seating, which makes it one of the more relaxed Barossa tastings to bring a dog along to.

The dog setup. Leashed dogs are welcome across the rustic courtyard, the garden and the outdoor seating with views over the historic vines. Keep dogs on the lead at all times. Water bowls are often out, but bring your own in case. There are resident winery dogs about during the week, so read the room if yours is reactive.

Good to know. The estate works some of the region's oldest vines, dating to 1847, and is known for its Shiraz, Grenache, Cabernet and a well-regarded Rose. Platter-style food is served daily until around 4pm, so you can settle in on the lawn with lunch.

Getting there. It is a short drive from the main street, with ample on-site parking. Tastings typically run 11am to 5pm daily, but confirm before you go.

Nearby with the dogs. Bethany Reserve is close by for a walk after your tasting, and Tanunda's tree-lined streets suit an easy on-lead wander.
