What visitors mention
Rockford Wines is a traditional Barossa cellar door in a rustic stone barn at 445 Seppeltsfield Road, Tanunda, famous for its basket-press methods and its Sparkling Shiraz. Dogs on leads are welcome in the outdoor courtyard, though this is a busy, popular spot, so timing matters.
The dog setup. Dogs are welcome on a lead in the outdoor courtyard while you taste. Pets are not allowed inside the stone-barn tasting room. Keep dogs close given the foot traffic and rustic terrain, and bring your own water bowl and treats. Water bowls are often out, but do not count on it.
Good to know. The cellar door is known for its iconic Basket Press Shiraz, its Sparkling Shiraz and old-fashioned winemaking using antique gear. The reviewer favourites are the private tastings and the cellar-door experience itself.
Getting there. It is 5 to 10 minutes from Tanunda on the Seppeltsfield Road wine trail, with a gravel car park at the winery that fills during busy periods.
Nearby with the dogs. Weekends here get very busy, so a mid-week visit is calmer for a dog. The Tanunda dog park is nearby for a run, and the Seppeltsfield Road area has other dog-friendly outdoor spots.
