Moorooroo Park Vineyards

Moorooroo Park Vineyards is a small, family-owned cellar door set in a historic stone settlement at 200 Nitschke Road, Krondorf, just outside Tanunda in the Barossa Valley. Dogs are welcome across its lawns, gardens and creek walk, which makes this a natural, low-key choice for a tasting with the dog in tow.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome on the extensive lawns, around the garden and along the creek walk, and tastings can be enjoyed in the outdoor spaces. It is a working, farm-style setting rather than a polished big-venue operation, so keep dogs on lead and mindful of other guests. Bring your own water bowl and treats; this is a boutique cellar door and provisioning is on you.

The cellar door

The estate makes hand-crafted, small-batch reds, mainly Shiraz and Cabernet, alongside a Sparkling Shiraz that is a house signature. Tastings are intimate and often hosted by the owners, with local cheese platters available alongside. The historic stone cellar and the David Austin rose garden are part of the appeal, and wine and food nights run through the year. Hours are typically Friday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm, so confirm before making the drive.

Pepsi: this is a weekend-only cellar door, so plan the Krondorf visit for Friday through Sunday. Turning up midweek on a Barossa crawl is an easy mistake with a locked gate at the end of it.

Getting there and parking

The address is 200 Nitschke Road, Krondorf, a short drive from central Tanunda into the vineyard country between Tanunda and Nuriootpa. On-site parking sits near the cellar door, and the flat gravel approach makes arrival with a dog straightforward.
