Brothers At War is a family-run boutique cellar door at 171 Basedow Road, Tanunda, in the heart of the Barossa. It is one of the more genuinely dog-welcoming wineries in town, with staff known to put out water and even puppuccinos for visiting dogs.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome to join you inside the cellar door for tastings, and there is comfortable outdoor seating as well. Fresh water bowls are available and the team makes a point of including dogs. Keep yours on a lead, especially when other dogs are in the room.

A cellar door that does puppuccinos is my kind of stop. Sit, look hopeful, enjoy.

Good to know. This is a small-batch, quality-focused producer known for classic Barossa Shiraz and other bold reds, with reviewers praising the riesling, the local platters and the attentive, personal service.

Getting there. It is on Basedow Road, easy to reach from central Tanunda or along the Seppeltsfield Road loop, with on-site parking.

Nearby with the dogs. The Valley Hotel on Murray Street is dog-friendly on the verandah and in the beer garden, and the surrounding vineyards and leafy streets suit a pre-tasting walk.
