Green Bans Park

Green Bans Park, on the corner of Albert Street and Erskineville Road, is a small inner-city green where dogs can be off lead at any hour. It is compact, so think quick run and a sniff rather than a long walk.

Off-lead rules

City of Sydney allows dogs off lead at all times here, as long as they are under effective control. Keep them clear of the children's playground.

What's here

Paved footpaths run past lawn and garden beds, and tile plaques and friezes tell the story of the union green bans that saved this land from redevelopment.

There is a drinking fountain, bins and new seating. Spotted gums and other large trees throw shade over parts of the lawn.

When to go

Parking is on the street and limited, so walk in if you live nearby. The small scale makes it a relaxed spot for dogs that find big parks overwhelming.
