Kinkuna Park

Kinkuna Park in Eglinton is a large community park on Impressions Drive with a fenced off-leash dog enclosure built into a much bigger space, alongside a playground, splash pad, basketball court and BBQs. It's the kind of park where the whole family can find something to do while the dog gets a proper run.

The rules. The dog enclosure is off-leash 24/7, but dogs must stay on lead anywhere else in the wider park, including near the playground and splash pad. Keep dogs under voice control even inside the fenced area, and pick up after them, bins are provided but bring spare bags.

What's there. Inside the dog enclosure: shade, water bowls, sand, and a couple of climbing obstacles. In the wider park: a wooden playground with slides, a water splash pad for kids, BBQ shelters, picnic tables and a basketball court, plus paved paths and open lawn.

Getting there. The park is on Impressions Drive, just off Marmion Avenue in Eglinton. Free street parking is usually easy to find nearby. Local bus routes serve the wider Eglinton area, but most visitors drive.

Nearby with the dogs. The Amberton Beach Bar & Restaurant, about a 2 to 3 minute drive away, allows dogs in its outdoor sea-view seating.

Weekends are the busiest, especially Sunday mornings when families and dog owners overlap. Weekday afternoons are quieter if you want the enclosure to yourselves.
