Barangaroo Reserve

Sandstone terraces, native planting and a clear line to the Harbour Bridge make Barangaroo Reserve one of the city's grandest dog walks. It sits on the harbourfront by Millers Point and Dawes Point, and dogs stay on leash here at all times.

Lead rules

The precinct is run by Placemaking NSW. Leashes stay on across the reserve, the promenades and the foreshore paths.

For off-leash time, nearby Hickson Park allows dogs off lead from 6 am to 10 am and from 4 pm to 7:30 pm. Dogs can also have a supervised swim at Marrinawi Cove, on the northern edge, as long as they are leashed while walking.

The walk

Smooth paved promenades mix with sandstone blocks and steps across the headland. The reserve joins Wulugul Walk, so you can carry on towards Walsh Bay or Darling Harbour.

Pet-friendly bubblers sit along the main paths, with bag dispensers near the entries. The reserve is car-free, so plan on a commercial car park nearby.

Max: The open sandstone gets hot in full sun, so time summer walks for early or late in the day.
