Coach Light Cabin

Coach Light Cabin is a luxury tiny home for two on a small working vineyard at 377 Old Coach Road, Aldinga, on the Fleurieu Peninsula. It is built around a couple and their dog: one beautifully finished cabin, a big spotted gum deck with an outdoor copper bath under a clear roof, and the beaches and cellar doors of McLaren Vale a short drive away.

Dogs stay with host approval, so list your dog when you book through Airbnb rather than arriving with a surprise. House rules keep pets off the furniture and beds, and any pet fee is set on the listing, so confirm it at booking. The hosts live on site with three dogs of their own, Hazel, Pablo and Frankie, plus a cat, so your dog needs to be comfortable sharing a property with other animals. The outdoor area is not advertised as fully fenced and it is a working vineyard, so plan on lead time outside and check with the host if a secure yard matters. The cabin

Inside there is a queen bed and a proper kitchen. Outside there is a Weber barbecue and the copper bath, which has adjustable privacy screens so you can open them to the vineyard air or close them for a soak under the stars. Guests rate the peace and quiet rather than action; this is a wind-down stay for a couple, not a base for a group. Depending on the season you will see pruning in winter or picking in summer happening around you, and the hosts are happy to talk vineyard if you are curious.

Close by with the dogs

Goodness Coffee Co in the Aldinga township does the morning coffee with dog treats on hand, and Sweet Life Gelateria and Pizzeria covers gelato in its dog-friendly garden. For a proper off-leash run, Symonds Reserve fenced dog park at Aldinga Beach is the local option. McLaren Vale's cellar doors are a short drive north, including Dandelion Vineyards and Kay Brothers Winery and Cellar Door.

Pepsi: Vineyard sunsets from that deck are the good stuff. Bring a long lead so everyone gets to enjoy them without a chase through the vines.
