Goodness Coffee Co roasts its own beans on the Fleurieu and pours them at a family-run cafe in the old Aldinga township on Old Coach Road. It is one of the friendliest dog setups in the district: a grassed front yard with picnic tables, a quieter tree-shaded garden out the back, and dog treats behind the counter. Hours run 7am to 2pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 2pm Sunday, so it is a morning-and-lunch venue rather than an all-day one.

Dogs are welcome across both outdoor areas. The picnic tables on the grassed front yard suit social dogs that enjoy a busy weekend scene, while the tree-shaded back garden is the pick on a hot day, with enough room to flop under a table. Water bowls are usually out and the cafe stocks Veggie Paws treats. Inside is people-only, so claim an outdoor table and order from there.

The coffee and the cabinet

The house-roasted coffee is the draw, and the cabinet does the heavy lifting alongside it. Regulars rate the almond croissant, the ham and cheese croissant, the banana bread and the salmon bagel. The old-township building gives it a relaxed, slightly heritage feel, and bike racks out front suit riders on the Fleurieu coast run.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits at 24 Old Coach Road in Aldinga, with street parking directly out front. It is an easy stop on the drive down to the Aldinga and Port Willunga coast, and the wineries of McLaren Vale are a short hop north.
