Goodness Coffee Co is a family-run cafe on Old Coach Road in the old Aldinga township, roasting its own beans on the Fleurieu and running one of the friendliest dog setups in the district - grassed front yard, shaded back garden and dog treats behind the counter.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome across the outdoor areas: picnic tables on the grassed front yard, plus a quieter tree-shaded garden out the back. Water bowls are usually out and the cafe stocks Veggie Paws dog treats. Inside is people-only, so claim an outdoor table and order from there.

Good to know. The coffee is roasted in-house and the cabinet does the heavy lifting - regulars rate the almond croissant, the ham and cheese croissant, the banana bread and the salmon bagel. Hours run early morning to mid-afternoon; check their socials before a special trip.

Getting there. Street parking sits directly out front on Old Coach Road, and it is an easy stop on the run down to the coast.

Nearby with the dogs. Symonds Reserve fenced dog park at Aldinga Beach is about five minutes away for a proper run first, and Sweet Life Gelateria and Pizzeria on Port Road covers the gelato leg of the trip.

When to go. Weekday mornings are the calm window; weekend brunch fills the front tables fast, so arrive before nine or wait out the rush. Good for social dogs that enjoy a busy front-yard scene.
