Dandelion Vineyards

Dandelion Vineyards pours from the Wonder Room, a minimalist cellar door perched on a hill on Brookman Road with panoramic views across the vineyards and valley. Dogs are welcome on the property, and the deck and adjoining lawns are the natural place to settle in with the outlook doing most of the talking.

The dog setup

The outdoor deck and lawns are the best spot for views and easy access, and dogs are also welcomed on Wonder Room visits. Shaded areas are available and water bowls are provided. Keep your dog well behaved and under control, especially around other guests on the deck.

Max: A hilltop deck in summer sun is hard on a dog. Take a shaded spot, bring a bowl you trust, and go easy on the afternoon heat.

The vibe

High-scoring shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and riesling drawn from McLaren Vale and the Eden Valley, served as seated tasting flights in the striking hilltop room. Weekday afternoons are calmest, and the views are best in the soft late-day light. Book ahead for a flight and grab a shaded deck spot on hot days.

Getting there and parking

The address is 1913 Brookman Road, McLaren Vale, about 45 to 50 minutes from the Adelaide CBD via the Southern Expressway. There is ample on-site parking with flat areas near the entrance, and the cellar door opens 11am to 5pm daily.

Make a day of it

Back in town, Sam I Am on Main Road is a dog-friendly coffee stop with outside tables, and Bracegirdle's keeps undercover outdoor seating where dogs are welcome while you finish the day with chocolate and coffee.
