Curlys on the Boardwalk is a family-run cafe on Breezeway Street, Mount Coolum, about 150 metres back from the beach. Dogs are welcome on the large undercover outdoor deck, which is the main draw for a post-beach breakfast or lunch.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome on the shaded outdoor deck/patio. Indoor tables are for humans only, which is standard for a food venue. Staff put out water bowls for visiting dogs, so bring your own if you want to be sure.

Good to know. The kitchen runs breakfast until 11am and moves into lunch after that, with a following for the sourdough, corn fritters and fried chicken burger. Reviewers rate the staff as genuinely welcoming to dogs rather than just tolerant.

Getting there. Street parking around Breezeway Street and Boardwalk Boulevard is your best bet; there is no dedicated car park. It is an easy walk from Mount Coolum Beach and the local boardwalk paths, so plenty of people arrive on foot with a dog already in tow.

Open Tuesday to Sunday, closed Mondays. Go early on weekends: the deck fills fast once the beach walkers arrive, and shade is limited once the sun gets high.
