nDugu’s Laughing Lobster

nDugu's Laughing Lobster is a traditional, relaxed fish and chip shop on David Low Way at Marcoola, sitting opposite the beachfront and easy to fold into a coastal walk with the dog.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath and veranda tables, which suit a leashed dog waiting while you eat. You order at the counter and take a seat outside for fresh food. There are no dedicated water bowls, so bring your own portable one.

Good to know. Known for Mooloolaba king prawns, calamari, barramundi and burgers, with seasoned potato wedges and battered sausages among the sides. Servings run generous. Parking and seating are wheelchair accessible, which helps if you are juggling a dog and a pram. It is open seven days, roughly 10:30am to 7 or 7:30pm.

Getting there. Directly on David Low Way with a free car park and ample street parking, opposite the beachfront accommodation.

Nearby with the dogs. The beach and coastal path are right across the road for a walk before or after your meal. Mudjimba Beach nearby has off-leash running; check council signage for designated times and areas.

When to go. A late afternoon order lets you walk the dog first and eat before the dinner rush.
