Alley Cat Coolum Beach

Alley Cat is a relaxed local cafe on David Low Way in the centre of Coolum. It is very dog-friendly, and its covered courtyard makes it one of the more weatherproof options on the strip.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor, undercover courtyard, which is partly enclosed with plastic blinds, so it stays dry and sheltered on windy or rainy days. There are also street-side footpath tables for a quick stop. Staff are friendly to dogs. Bring your own water bowl to be safe.

Good to know. The coffee is Allpress, and the kitchen is well regarded for breakfast and brunch, with savoury muffins a standout. In the evening it shifts to local craft beers and wines.

Getting there. Find it at 1756 David Low Way, in the main Coolum shops. Street parking is along David Low Way, with free public car parks behind the shops near the beachfront. It is an easy walk from the foreshore.

Nearby with the dogs. Tickle Park is a short walk for a grassy break, and the boardwalk to Point Perry has the scenic views. For off-leash, head north towards Stumers Creek.
