Frankston Brewhouse

Frankston Brewhouse is a boutique microbrewery and restaurant at 10/12 Kookaburra Street, set in a converted warehouse a few minutes from the Frankston waterfront. The beer is brewed on site, the kitchen runs to share plates and elevated pub fare, and there is live music and even bingo in the calendar. The drawcard for dog owners is the outdoor beer garden, which is dog friendly in the warmer months.

The dog setup

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the outdoor beer garden, on lead at all times. The indoor brewery and dining space is people-only under standard food rules. Water bowls are often around, but bring your own collapsible bowl to be safe. The garden gets social and noisy at peak times, so it suits a dog that is comfortable around crowds and other dogs.

Worth knowing

Opening days are limited: the brewhouse is closed Monday to Wednesday, opens Thursday from 4pm, Friday from 3pm, and runs midday to late on Saturday and midday to 6pm on Sunday. Plan the dog-friendly visit around a Thursday evening, weekend afternoon or Sunday lunch rather than turning up on a whim. Craft beer fans come for the on-site brews; wine and cocktails are available for the rest of the table.

Pepsi: The beer garden is at its best on a warm Saturday afternoon, but check the live music schedule if your dog is noise sensitive.

Getting there and parking

The brewhouse sits just off the Nepean Highway side of central Frankston, with on-site parking that fills at peak times and street parking on the surrounding roads. It is an easy walk from Frankston station for a car-free visit.

Close by with the dogs

Before or after a session, the Keast Park off-leash dog beach at Seaford is a short drive north, and Ballam Park's fenced agility park is east of the centre for an off-leash run. The Laughing Lark is a dog-friendly cafe option for the next morning.
