Worland Park Dog Off Leash Area

Worland Park is a long, thin open reserve on Skye Road that doubles as a designated free-roam off-leash area. It's a handy spot for a quick local run, with mature trees for shade, but it's not enclosed.

The rules. Dogs must be under effective voice or hand control. Keep them on-lead within 10 metres of barbecues, picnic areas or playgrounds, and out of garden beds and the playground itself. Greyhounds stay on-lead at all times, even here. Carry and use poo bags.

What's there. There's a water tap for people and dogs near the playground at the west end, plus basic seating. Bins can be limited, so be ready to pack out waste. Some visitors have reported broken glass along the paths, so keep an eye on where your dog is sniffing.

Getting there. Access is via Skye Road, near the Gleneagles Avenue intersection, with street parking along Skye Road. Local buses run along Skye Road, and Frankston Station is a short bus ride or a long walk away.

Weekday mid-mornings and early afternoons are quietest. Early mornings and the 4pm to 6pm window are busiest. Best for confident dogs who don't need an enclosed run.
