Bruce Aitken Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Bruce Aitken Reserve is a small, friendly suburban off-leash park on Holroyd Street in Seaford, the kind of local spot you use for a quick free-roam rather than a long run. It is mostly open grass ringed by trees, with some perimeter fencing, and it suits residents who want somewhere close and low-key.

The rules. Dogs may be off-leash in the designated area but must stay under effective voice control. Keep your dog on-leash within 10 metres of the barbecues, picnic area and playground. Declared dangerous or menacing dogs and greyhounds must be leashed at all times. Carry bags and clean up; bins are in the reserve.

What's there. The reserve has a playground, a walking track, a half-court basketball ring and park benches. Water can be limited, so bring your own bowl. Street parking is available around the reserve.

Getting there. It is a short walk from Seaford Station on the Frankston line, reached easily through the local residential streets off Nepean Highway and Seaford Road.

It gets busiest on weekend mornings around 9 to 11am and on weekday afternoons after work. For a quieter, more relaxed session, aim for mid-morning on a weekday. Good for a fast, nearby leg-stretch rather than big open running.
