Maple Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Maple Reserve is a linear off-leash strip in Seaford, a long, open run of grass flanking a busy paved bike path off Maple Street. It is off-leash 24/7, but the defining feature is also the catch: it is unfenced and runs right alongside a popular commuter cycle route, so it rewards dogs with solid recall rather than off-leash beginners.

The rules. Off-leash is permitted 24 hours under Frankston City Council, but your dog must be under effective voice control and return on command. Nothing here is fenced, so dogs need to stay clear of the bike path and nearby roads. Cyclists and walkers share the route, so do not let your dog block or chase bikes. Greyhounds must be on-lead in all public spaces. Carry bags and clean up.

What's there. There are some shaded patches under the trees and public bins, though bring your own bags as they are not always stocked. There are no toilets directly at this spot.

Getting there. Free street parking runs along Maple Street, and the reserve is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from Seaford Railway Station on the Frankston line.
