What visitors mention
Telopea Reserve's fenced dog park is a small, secure paddock tucked into a quiet residential pocket of Frankston North, built for training and confident off-leash runs rather than long rambles. Double-gated entry means no bolting dogs, and it's open around the clock.
The rules. Off-leash inside the fenced area at any time. Dogs must go back on lead once you're out in the surrounding Telopea Reserve grounds, and owners are expected to keep dogs under control throughout.
What's there. Shade trees and a shade sail, picnic tables and benches for people, a water tap (bring your own bowl to be safe) and dog waste bins. There are no public toilets on site, and poop bags aren't supplied, so pack your own.
Getting there. Street parking right outside on Telopea Court. The closest train stations are Kananook and Seaford; realistically this is a drive-to or walk-from-home spot rather than a public transport destination.

Nearby with the dogs. One Pear Tree and Two Boys One Beagle and A Coffee Shop, both in Frankston, have outdoor seating that welcomes dogs and are a short drive away. Seaford Beach's off-leash stretch is also about 5 to 10 minutes down the road if you want to turn the visit into a bigger day out.
When to go. Weekday mornings and mid-afternoons are quietest. Late afternoons and weekends get busier once the neighbouring reserve and BMX track fill up. Good for dogs that need a secure space to practise recall away from distractions.
