Beach Cafe Seaford

Beach Cafe Seaford sits right on the foreshore at Unit 1/10N Nepean Highway, a few steps from Seaford Pier, with wide decks looking over Port Phillip Bay. It is a busy, casual all-day cafe, open 8am to 4pm seven days, and the draw is simple: proper bay views, a big cake cabinet and an outdoor terrace where dogs settle in while owners work through eggs benedict, chilli scrambled eggs or fish and chips. The kitchen wraps around 3pm with coffee and cake to 3:45pm.

Where the dog sits

Dogs are welcome across the outdoor terrace seating, and the cafe is a regular stop for the beach-walking crowd coming off the sand. Inside is for humans under standard VIC food rules. Water is usually offered at the tables, though a bowl of your own saves asking on busy summer mornings. Keep your dog leashed and out of the walkway between tables; the deck gets a steady stream of prams and plates.

Pair it with the dog beach

This is the best part of the location. The Keast Park off-leash dog beach is a designated 200-metre stretch at 18 Nepean Highway where dogs can run off-leash 24/7 year-round between the emergency marker and the water outfall drain, with a car park, toilets and a water tap nearby. The rest of the Seaford foreshore is seasonal: off other beach sand dogs are prohibited 9:30am to 7:30pm from December to March, and the foreshore paths are strictly on-leash. Time your swim, then walk down to the cafe.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits on the seaward side of the Nepean Highway at the northern end of the Seaford strip, with foreshore parking nearby that is ticketed at peak times. Weekends between 9am and 11am are the busiest windows; mid-afternoon weekdays are quieter.

Close by with the dogs

If the terrace is full, Cafe La Wheels and 501 Booster Cafe and Bistro are the suburb's other dog-friendly tables, and Maple Reserve adds an inland off-leash option.
