Beams Road Park Dog Off-Leash Area

Beams Road Park Dog Off-Leash Area is a small, fully fenced off-leash park in Zillmere, tucked among trees near a creek line and open around the clock. It works best as a quiet local exercise stop rather than a destination park, and the compact size is part of that: you can see the whole enclosure from one spot.

The dog setup

The enclosure is fenced with gated entry, but some users note small gaps a determined small dog could squeeze through, so keep an eye on little ones near the boundary. Dogs must stay under effective control even off-lead, and a lead is required for coming and going.

Bring your own waste bags, because dispensers are not always stocked, and pick up after your dog as Brisbane City Council requires.

What is there

A few benches for owners, mature tree shade, agility gear including an A-frame ramp, and a dog-height drinking fountain, with water generally available on site though a backup bowl is worth carrying. The ground is a mix of grass and worn earth, and it sits close to a creek line.

Max: check the fence line on arrival, especially with a small dog. Everything else here is straightforward, but the gaps are the one thing worth a lap of the boundary for.

Getting there and parking

Access is off Beams Road via a suburban turn, with a narrow gravel section on the approach and street parking available. Early morning and after the afternoon school run are when locals converge. Buses run along Beams Road, and Carseldine train station is a short drive away if you need public transport.

The ground near the creek gets wet and muddy after rain, so a towel in the car is worth it through a wet spell.

Close by with the dogs
