Boondall Dog Park is a fully fenced off-leash area at 72 College Way, next to the Boondall Entertainment Centre, with separate zones for big and small dogs and enough grass to actually run. It's open 24 hours and the double fencing makes it a solid pick if your dog is still working on recall.
The rules. Off-leash is fine once you're inside the fenced zones, but keep your dog under voice control and supervised throughout. Bag and bin waste straight away. Dogs that are aggressive, fighting or excessively barky need to be leashed and removed. Use the small-dog area for smaller or shyer dogs rather than mixing them in with the big-dog zone. If you plan to walk on into the neighbouring Boondall Wetlands Reserve afterwards, note dogs are on-leash only there, off-leash rules do not carry over.
What's there. Full perimeter fencing, established shade trees, picnic tables and benches, a basic agility course, and a children's playground next door for mixed-group visits. Water taps on site are limited, so bring your own bowl and bottle to be safe.
Getting there. By car it's an easy run off the Gateway Motorway with parking generally available near the Entertainment Centre. Boondall Station on the Shorncliffe line is the nearest train stop, though it's a moderate walk from the platform to College Way; local buses run along Sandgate Road with a walk in from there.
Watch-outs. The park turns muddy fast after heavy rain, factor that into what you're happy to have rolling around in the car afterwards.

When to go. Early mornings and weekday mornings before 9am are the quietest windows; weekends and after-work hours draw the biggest crowds. Good for owners who want a properly fenced, low-risk space to let a young or reactive dog burn off energy off-leash.
