Boondall Dog Park

Boondall Dog Park is a fully fenced off-leash park at 72 College Way, beside the Boondall Entertainment Centre, with separate zones for big and small dogs and enough grass for a real run. It is open around the clock, and the double-gated entries make it a solid pick for dogs still working on recall.

The dog setup

Two partitioned enclosures sit a short distance apart: a larger run for confident dogs and a smaller section that suits shy or smaller dogs. Established shade trees cover the seating and picnic tables, a basic agility course gives high-drive dogs something to do, and water taps are on site, though bringing your own bowl and bottle is still the safe play.

Brisbane City Council's off-leash rules apply: leash carried at all times, dog under effective control and supervised, waste bagged and binned straight away, and any dog showing aggression leashed and removed.

Pepsi: the gap between the two enclosures is your friend. If the big-dog side is rowdy, walk across to the small section rather than persevering, because the two crowds rarely mix and the smaller yard is often empty on weekday mornings.

Worth knowing

The neighbouring Boondall Wetlands Reserve is on lead only, so off-leash rules do not carry over past the fence. The park sits next to the entertainment centre, which means the car park area gets busy on concert nights, and the playground next door makes mixed family visits easy.

Getting there and parking

By car it is an easy run off the Gateway Motorway with parking along College Way, and Boondall station is walkable for a car-free visit. The wetlands boardwalks start nearby if you want an on-lead leg stretch after the off-lead session. Concert nights aside, the parking rarely troubles anyone, and the entrance is a short walk from the nearest bays.

Close by with the dogs

The Billai Dhagun Circuit is the on-lead wetlands walk for afterwards, and Boondall Park Fenced Dog Park plus Nudgee Waterhole Reserve give you two more fenced options within a few minutes. Brizzy Bites at Nudgee Beach handles the post-park coffee.
