Boondall Park Fenced Dog Park

Boondall Park Fenced Dog Park is the fully fenced off-leash area at 325B Muller Road, Boondall, near the corner of Beams Road on Brisbane's northside. It is open 24 hours, split into separate fenced sections so big and small dogs can be kept apart, and it has a reputation as a popular, well-kept local run with a friendly crowd.

The dog setup

Entry runs through a double-gate airlock; close both gates securely before you unclip. Brisbane City Council rules ask owners to carry a leash at all times, stay within sight of their dog and keep commands working, leash and leave immediately if a dog turns aggressive, and bin all waste. Dogs in season, restricted breeds and unregistered or unvaccinated dogs are not permitted. Inside there are two distinct enclosed areas, grassed running space with mature shade trees, seating and covered picnic shelters, water taps with drinking bowls at both ends, and some agility extras including an A-frame. The surface can go muddy after heavy rain.

Max: the two yards make this an easy call. Start the nervous or small dog in the quiet section, then graduate to the main run once the tail is up.

Worth knowing

The park is generally well lit and clean, and the surrounding Boondall Wetlands are strictly on-leash, so any extension of the walk past the fence line needs the lead back on. Weekend mornings draw the regulars; weekday middays are the quietest window.

Getting there and parking

The dog park is off Muller Road at Boondall, close to the Beams Road corner, roughly 20 minutes north of the Brisbane CBD. There is dedicated on-site car parking right beside the fenced area, including accessible spaces, which makes loading and unloading easy. Buses run along Beams Road and the Sandgate Road corridor nearby.

While you're out there

For an on-leash leg stretch through the wetlands, the Billai Dhagun Circuit starts close by. Downfall Creek Dog Park at Geebung and Beams Road Park Dog Off-Leash Area at Zillmere are alternative yards in the same corner of the northside, and Nudgee Waterhole Reserve Fenced Dog Park sits a few minutes east.
