Daytime Hidden World Dog Off-Leash Area is a fenced dog park inside the wider Bill Brown Sports Reserve in Fitzgibbon, with separate sections for small and large breeds so your dog can run properly without a lead.

The rules. Open 6am to 6pm daily. Inside the fenced area dogs can run off-leash; anywhere else in the reserve they need to be under effective voice control. Pick up after your dog immediately, bins and bags are provided. The park sits next to a busy children's playground, so keep an eye on reactive dogs near the fence line.

What's there. Plenty of natural shade from trees, water stations for dogs, and agility equipment for the more active ones. The broader reserve adds public toilets, BBQs, sheltered picnic tables and the Emily Seebohm Aquatic Centre next door.

Getting there. The park is at 426B Roghan Road, Fitzgibbon, an easy run off the Gateway Motorway. There is a designated car park on site, and paths through the reserve are paved and wheelchair-accessible. Carseldine train station is the closest by rail, with bus stops along Roghan Road.

Nearby with the dogs. Beyond The Brew, a dog-friendly cafe with outdoor undercover seating, is also in Fitzgibbon, an easy stop before or after a run. Further cafes with outdoor seating can be found in neighbouring Bracken Ridge and Carseldine, though it is worth confirming pet policy before you go.

When to go: weekday mid-mornings and afternoons are quietest. Saturday and Sunday mornings draw a crowd of local families and dog owners, and mosquitoes can be an issue after rain, so pack repellent.
