Pat Rafter Park Fenced Dog Park

Pat Rafter Park Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced off-leash area on Accolade Place in Carseldine, next to the Queensland Cruising Yacht Club, and open 24 hours for early or late visits.

The rules. Dogs must be on-leash entering and leaving the fenced area, then under effective control once off-leash inside. Waste needs picking up immediately, and dogs aren't permitted in the adjoining playground or sports fields.

What's there. The dog area is grassed with shade trees, a water point, seating and bins. The wider park also has gazebos, electric barbecues and a children's playground, useful if the visit is a family outing rather than just a dog walk.

Getting there. Reach it via Lacey Road onto Accolade Place, with free street parking that's generally easy to find even on weekends. Carseldine train station is about a five-minute drive away, with local buses servicing the wider Aspley/Carseldine area.

When to go. Weekend mornings between 8 and 10am and weekday early evenings around 4:30 to 6pm are the busiest. Good on-site lighting makes it a solid after-work option in the cooler months, and weekday middays are the quiet window if your dog prefers fewer playmates.
